Lost Mittens
Lost Mittens est. 2014 by Artist Jaqueline Barmentloo is based in Port Adelaide, South Australia. All products are handmade and where possible utilise up-cycled or recycled materials.

The first range of hand cut up-cycled inner tube rubber and silicone bead jewellery pieces was a project that Jaqueline started in 2014. Making jewellery from discarded automotive bits and bobs however, started when she was around 14.

On weekends as a young teen Jaqueline would create earrings from stuff she’d find in the bins and on the floor when it was her job to help clean at her fathers mechanic repair & body shop business. Aided and abetted by her Dad (who was renowned in their family for his planter stand creations of welded wheels and steel rod when wooing their Mum back in the day) wire, washers and discarded automotive body filler became eighties abstract design delights all finished in bright coloured left over car paints.

“I still see the beauty and potential in discarded materials. These Inner tube rubber jewellery pieces have been my first public range using recycled materials. Be sure to follow me on insta @Lostmittens_projects for new jewellery creations made from discarded building and framing materials coming soon!” - Jaqueline
